Electrostatic discharges can cause damage in microelectronic components, because the energy of a static discharge into a semiconductor behaves in relation to the mass like the energy of a lightning strike into a tree. The materials of the handles of the ESD pliers therefore contain additives, which have a very low conductivity and which safely dissipate the resulting charges. Only working with ESD pliers guarantees that sensitive electronics are not destroyed and that relevant standards and regulations are complied with. (e.g. IEC TR 61 340-5, DIN EN 61 340-5, SP Method 2472). The ergonomics of the two-colour multi-component handles are optimised for movement sequences during service work. Shape and material provide a secure grip and allow fatigue-free working. The force is distributed over a larger contact area and thus the pressure is distributed accordingly.
