The abrasive mineral is distributed precisely and uniformly over the backing, which helps produce a consistent, predictable finish each time.

The 3 mil polyester is helpful when close tolerances are important. In conjunction with high tolerance machines, the abrasive can consistently produce high tolerance parts and finishes consistently in specification.
